IMPORTANT 2025 ELECTION UPDATES

ATTENTION DEKALB RESIDENTS. There are 3 mayoral races in DeKalb County that we, as animal lovers, need to care about. Clarkston, Tucker and Stonecrest. Here is a video where you can see that both candidates in Clarkston care about animal welfare with Sean Bright edging out Beverly Burks. In Tucker only Anne Lerner showed that she cares about animal welfare. In Stonecrest neither candidate could be bothered responding to the three questions. Ironically, many of the dogs the are dumped or mistreated and end up in the shelter come from that area of our County so it can be assumed that this reflects a general disregard for animals. PLEASE SHARE this with your neighbors in these cities. Here are a couple of points:

1) Candidates who cannot be bothered to answer a three question survey are not likely to be responsive in general.

2) It is well known that "Animal and human welfare are intrinsically linked, sharing a reciprocal relationship through health, social, and economic factors."

Both of these points speak volumes about the candidates in these races.

2025 is a new year for DeKalb County animals! We are tired of the dumped animals, the abused animals, the expensive and careless court system, and over-breeding of dogs. Let’s continue to work to implement the Five Common Sense Solutions to improve animal welfare in DeKalb County.
